Note: All uploaded scans must be clear and legible. Original documents must be presented at your biometric appointment. For renewals: also bring your current/expired passport. For lost passports: bring original police report (filed within 7 days).

Payment via CBE mobile banking or Telebirr only. Generate your order code after submitting your application.
Appointment Guide

Book online after payment
After completing payment, return to your application and select a biometric appointment date, time, and ICS office.

Print or save your appointment slip
Download the appointment slip with your QR code. You must present this at the office.

Bring originals + appointment slip
On the day: bring original documents (not just scans), your appointment slip, and your Fayda ID card or FaydaPass app.

Biometric capture
ICS staff will capture your fingerprints and take a new photo for the biometric passport chip.

Track and collect
Use the Track page to monitor progress. You will receive an SMS when your passport is ready for collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fayda is Ethiopia's foundational digital identity system, built on MOSIP open-source technology. It provides every Ethiopian with a unique National Identification Number (NIN), verified biometrically. Since June 2025, it is mandatory for all passport applications.
